SKIN RESURFACING TREATMENT
Founded as Ultimate Body Contouring, we began in 2018 offering state-of-the-art body contouring services. In 2019, the Ultimate Body Contouring division became Ultimate Body & Skin, expanding treatment options to ensure we offer the best in body and skin care to our patients. We are pleased to offer our innovative skin resurfacing treatment that targets a number of skin concerns.
A mark left on the skin or within body tissue where a wound, burn, or sore has not healed completely and fibrous connective tissue has developed.
Irregular areas of skin that look like bands, stripes, or lines. Seen when a person grows or gains weight rapidly or has certain diseases or conditions
A common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in the face. It may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps.
Alteration of the color of the skin. Hyperpigmentation is where patches of skin are darker than the surrounding skin. It occurs when special cells in the skin make too much of the pigment called melanin. Whereas, hypopigmentation is a lack of melanin (pigmentation) in an area of the skin.
Uneven skin texture is coarse, rough, dull, dry and often sun-damaged skin, lacking hydration, collagen, and elastin support. Can also be a side effect of scarring or other skin conditions.
Irregular darkening or redness of the skin
An enlarged follicular opening of the skin (follicule), with a keratinous plug and occasional lanugo or mature hair.
Wrinkles are the lines and creases that form in your skin. Some wrinkles can become deep crevices or furrows and may be especially noticeable around the eyes, mouth and neck.

FRACTIONAL SKIN RESURFACING
Fractional Skin Resurfacing stimulates your skin’s renewal process. The treatment reduces the appearance of fine lines, uneven texture/tone and improves skin marred by acne scarring, aging, sun damage and other signs of skin damage without affecting the surrounding tissue. With our highly customizable treatment, finely tipped pins emit radio frequency energy to ablate the tissue in a small footprint per pin—helping to rejuvenate the appearance of the skin and resulting in a smoother, younger-looking complexion. The applicator can effectively replace all other skin resurfacing devices, offering treatments that are safe for all skin types with exceptionally low downtime.
15 – 30 Minutes.
Most patients receive 3-4 treatments per area. The exact number of treatments needed depends on the individual person and area being treated. However, test spot(s) must be done prior to the treatment series.
Face/Neck: One treatment every 4 weeks. Body: One treatment every 4-8 weeks. Treatments done on the body take longer to heal/epithelized.
There is downtime but only for 24 hours post-treatment (or up to 5 days for more aggressive treatments). Your skin will be red and sensitive for the first 24 hours. After 24 hours, you may put on makeup and resume your regular skin care routine. You should always apply sunscreen (at least SPF 30) to maintain your results and prevent sun damage. Avoid vigorous exercise and hot baths or massages on the treatment area for the first 2 days after your session. Make sure to keep your skin clean and protected from the sun. Avoid any sort of tanning.
Although you can see improvement in the texture and tone of the skin within the first week, it will take approximately 3 months for the final results to be apparent.
After your final treatment, your results will continue to improve. However, one touch-up session may be needed approximately every 6 months, depending on how your skin responds.
Treatment information about Intense Pulsed Light (IPL).
For IPL hair removal, it depends on what part of the body you’re getting treated. If it’s a smaller area, it may only take as little as 15-30 minutes. A larger area, like two full legs, may take up to 60 minutes.
You’ll likely need 6-10 treatments per area. Hair grows in different stages and at different rates for everyone, so it depends again on each individual person and the area being treated.
Treatments can be done at most, every 2 weeks, though it is suggested 4-6 weeks apart for the face and 4-8 weeks apart for the body.
Little to no downtime! Avoid Sun exposure in the area for 3-4 weeks after treatment. We recommend waiting at least 24 hours after a laser hair removal treatment before attempting any activity that may excessively increase your body temperature. I.e., hot showers, strenuous exercise.
The day of your treatment, your current hair cycle will be killed by the IPL light. You may notice the stubble hairs look ‘frazzled’ afterwards. It will take around 10-18 days before the hair falls out. This is when you begin to see results for that hair cycle.
- The hair that is permanently destroyed will NEVER come back. However, everyone’s bodies generate new hair in different follicles as hormones change and time goes on. Because of this, maintenance hair removal may need to be done at some point in the future, but the frequency of maintenance is different per person.
- 4 times a year/ typically once every 3 months.
